Meet Matt
Matt is a passionate advocate for hard work, community service, and putting others first, driven by personal experiences and a deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Matt's early life was shaped by his mother, who raised him and his three younger sisters after the tragic death of their father during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. The lessons of perseverance, kindness, and dedication to improving the world around him were instilled by his mother, values that Matt continues to live by today. He aims to bring these same principles to his work in public service, where he will prioritize the needs of the people.
A graduate of Xavier High School in New York City, Matt's experiences during his time there set the foundation for his lifelong commitment to service. The school’s motto, “Men for Others,” resonated deeply with Matt, and during a Habitat for Humanity trip to Tijuana, Mexico, he saw firsthand the extreme poverty faced by many. This experience solidified his belief in putting those in need ahead of personal interests, a viewpoint he will bring with him to Washington, D.C. His focus on helping the underserved and fighting for those who are often overlooked is a core part of his platform.
Matt attended Northeastern University in Boston, where he earned a degree in Economics in 2011. After graduation, he embarked on a successful career across a variety of industries, demonstrating his adaptability and leadership skills. Through these experiences, Matt developed a keen understanding of the importance of economic opportunity and the need for policies that support working families and businesses alike.
Having lived in several cities across the country—including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and back to Chicago—Matt brings a diverse perspective to his work. His travels have given him a broad understanding of different communities and their unique challenges. Whether it's in the corporate world or his work with nonprofits, Matt has always been committed to making a positive impact. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life, paired with his dedication to public service, makes him an ideal candidate to represent the people in Washington.
Now based in Chicago with his wife, Lily, and their four beloved pets, Matt enjoys spending his free time outdoors, staying active, and exploring the city’s vibrant food scene. He remains an avid baseball player, a passion he has held since second grade. As a candidate for political office, Matt is determined to fight for the middle class, advocate for universal healthcare, and work tirelessly to create a better future for all.
His vision for a more inclusive, compassionate, and prosperous America is one he is eager to bring to life through his leadership in Washington.
